Start With Why
Remembering why we do things seems like the perfect place to start and I can think of no better place to do that than with the book “Start With Why” by Simon Sinek. Sinek’s concepts aren’t so much about innovative thinking as they are about taking us back to our core; making is into students again. Sinek asks the simple question: Why do you do what you do? What is your WHY? Your WHY is your reasoning. Your WHY is the reason that you get out of bed; the reason you make meetings; the reason you work long hours. Your WHY is your measuring stick. When you don’t understand your WHY, then it’s impossible to know if what you are doing is right or wrong. It’s impossible to grow or succeed. This is true of life, business, love and yes, even marketing. So, until next week, look at everything around you, look at everything you do and ask yourself that simple three letter question: WHY?
